Are nurses in Australia well compensated? How much is the average salary in a month/year?

I am planning to apply for Australia because I heard that it's a good place to live too. But my employer in UK already contacted me. I am still undecided as to whether I accept the job in UK or not. If Australia offers a good salary & benefits, then I would go there instead of UK. Please help me decide!
