What part of Australia is best to visit?
My boyfriend & I are planning on visiting Australia in May after I graduate university. I don't know much about it but I'd like to visit all the popular places & be able to see wildlife too. If anyone can help me that'd be great- recommend hotels, cities, anything! Thanks

- My wife's son lives in Perth and we went to visit him couple of years ago and I LOVED it.
- Try Perth, Western Australia If u like long drives, u can drive alond the State...thrs a lot to see, great surfing, zoos, marine life, wineries, beaches, national parks, quadbiking, etc Places of interest in Wa are 1)Perth 2)Margaret River (wine area) 3)Busselton/Dunsborough(whale watching and great beach) 4) Exmouth(great marine life and surf) 5)The pinnacles(desert and sand dunes) 6)Broome(excellent beach) Then u can fly cheap over to Melbourne,Sydney and Brisbane with TIGER AIRWAYS. Melbourne is a busy city,bt apparently Sydney is way busier and Brisbane is very entertaining. For more 'excitement', the Northern Territory is famous for crocs and the largest ones in Oz. Have fun..Oz is gr8 for backpacking!!
- I used to live in Australia, and I have been to most places there. Queensland is a great place because it's fun and the beaches are amazing. But Sydney has a lot to see and some really great restaurants, also it has The Harbour Bridge and Opera House which are beautiful. Then Melbourne is very cultural and a good experience. It really depends on what you're interested in. The Australia Zoo is a good place to see wildlife. But so are the other zoo's there. It really depends on all your interests :)
- I live in Perth , Western Australia. Beautiful place! Queensland.... EVEN BETTER :) If you are coming in May , it will be beginning to get cold around then. So you have a choice.. Anywhere in the bottom half of Australia will be cooler weather.. anywhere up the top half will more than likely have great warmer weather. Each state is very different. All have many choices of venues to see wildlife. The zoo I love the most is Australia Zoo, Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Absolutely gorgeous!
- i would visit sydney...its expensive but pretty...stay at a youth hostel! then the great barrier reef most acessable from cairns in queensland...(fly from sydney too far to drive)...take a trip out and go snorkelling on the reef...just amazing!!!
- Depends what your interested in seeing or doing. Each state has it's own unique things to see. I'm from Qld, we have all the fun Theme Parks including Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin) & Surfer's Paradise, great barrier reef and Whitsundays. Nsw has the Opera house, Sydney Harbour Bridge and a great night life. Victoria - Has amazing food and shopping! South Australia - Beautiful city (heaps of Church's & culture), fantastic food and wine / wineries! Perth - Beaches are beautiful and everything is close together. I hope this has help a little. (www.australia.com) I know where ever you go you have a fantastic time! Contrates on graduating Uni!
- Travel the east coast its amazing, we worked our way from Melbourne all the way up to cairns, best trip ever, and you will meet loads of backpackers on the same route, if you can travel some of the way by camper van all the better, be sure to check out the Whitsunday islands,Frasier island, suffers paradise, great barrier reef, Sydney harbour, blue mountains, bondi beach, and check out Byron bay the most eastern point in oz for some whale spotting and amazing sunsets, while in Byron take a bus spin out to nimbin its crazy, hope this helps. when you get to oz there will be plenty of tourist centers that will help you out on planing your trip, buses, accommodation etc.have a ball,id go back tomorrow if i could.
- In May the weather is getting cooler, so it's best to stay up north. I'd suggest the Gold Coast and Cairns as your main destinations for that time of year. It depends how long you are staying, you might have time to visit elsewhere as well, eg Sydney. There are plenty of wildlife destinations in both the Gold Coast and Cairns. The best place to see wildlife actually in the wild is Tasmania, but that will be getting a little cool.
- Just stick to Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
- Yes, Surely regarding hotels in Australia i can help as i am going to provide you a better link though which you can easily check the details of all best hotels (sorted by city listings) and can select your desired hotel in terms of good services/features under your specified budget, although you can make direct bookings as well. http://www.search.hotelsbookingdeals.com/Country/Australia.htm
